Robin Laws at Pitzer's Fine Arts

From my beginnings in a two-room schoolhouse in the farming and ranching community of Woodrow, Colorado, I have attempted to describe my surroundings, feelings, values and dreams visually, through artistic expression.
I love the high plains, the wide-open space, and the subtle beauty of the grasslands where I've lived my life. I grew up here, so did my mother, her mother and her mother. The inspiration for my work, it's all right here.
I share my ranchland home with 3 Angora goats, 20 chickens, 5 geese, 4 ducks, 2 ponies, 2 horses, 8 cats, 1 dog and 3 much loved burros. Our animals and the wildlife of the surrounding plains and grasslands provide me with always-changing models for my watercolor paintings and sculptures.
Defying Robin’s requests, and modesty, her daughters and grandchildren want you to know something about her many accomplishments. Starting with "Little Broomtail", Robin's bronze work is beloved by collectors from around the world. Her love of nature, and her talents have combined to create a wonderful diversity in her art. From her first works through the award-winning highly stylized "Pronghorn" antelope, to the current "A Friend to Lean On", Robin's sculptures will enchant and delight people of all ages.
Her work has appeared (and in many cases, won major awards) at many prestigious shows and exhibits in the country: The C.M. Russell Auction of Original Art, C.M. Russell Museum, Great Falls, Montana; Western Regional Art Show, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau, Wisconsin; Sculpture in the Park, Loveland, Colorado; Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Show, National Art Club, NYC; Salmagundi Club, NYC.
