Sally Minter at Pitzer's Fine Arts

Sally Minter loves the way light hits the landscape around her. A longing to capture this in paint on canvas is what prompts her to paint. It's a response to the awesome beauty of God's creation.
Sally is known for her classic Texas bluebonnet paintings that have that response to a specific oak or particular distant hills woven into them. She started painting at the age of 12, when her mother started painting and entering shows in San Antonio. Early sales and awards encouraged her to continue in her pursuit. She started painting bluebonnets in 1994, and is now turning to more site specific scenes based on plein air field studies.
Sally was born in 1954 and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She received her BFA in Commercial Art from Texas State University in 1991. She lives in the beautiful village of Wimberley, Texas, and is represented by Pitzer's Fine Arts, located in Wimberley.
